I’m usually on my blog hopping activity or blog designing when time strikes at 2 in the afternoon. You know, that’s when I’m done with all the household chores and stuff. Just yet, after those noontime shows like Eat Bulaga, primetime Pinoy novelas follow. Honestly, I’m not so much of a fan of these kinds of drama flicks on TV but this “Angelito Ang Batang Ama” caught my attention and little did I know, I’m already loving it! (Lol! I just remembered Eat Bulaga is on GMA 7, while Angelito is at ABS-CBN.)
I love this particular drama, because it’s very admirable! Specially this father and son closeness. You may be thinking why, because in our family, or let’s say in typical Filipino families, it’s rare to see this kind of closeness between a father and the son. Usually, the father would always make their sons feel intimidated of the so-called “strong father image” that results to rebellion of the kids.
Now, back to the story. The kid, Junjun, who is 5 years of age would call his dad, ‘Pareng Angelito’ and treat each other just like best of friends! Personally, I love how this drama shows how a father and son relationship can be so fun. They would sleep beside each other, take baths sharing a single pail of water, laugh and do stuff together that I enjoy watching them really.
This is the kind of scenario that this father and son enjoy for 5 years without having the mother of the child around. Yet, as we all know, kids like Junjun in that early age starts to know and realize that he doesn’t have a mother. Another twist in the story right? It’s because, the parents of the girl, Rosalie (played by Charee Pineda), was only 16 years old when she had Junjun inside her tummy. With her family’s strong disapproval of her pregnancy as well as their relationship, she decided to elope with Angelito. From there, they found peace away from Rosalie’s family but that did not last long. They discovered where they are, and took Rosalie away from Angelito and the child who was only several weeks old. After all, they didn’t want the child in the first place. How cruel, right?
Since then, Angelito (played by the handsome JM de Guzman) was trying his best to build his family together but things got so complicated and dangerous for them. There were threats from Rosalie’s family against him so his grandmother hid him and the kid. Rosalie’s older brother was imprisoned too for burning a house where Angelito’s sister was injured.
Five years later, Angelito decided to go back to the city to look for a job to sustain his son’s needs all with the hope of seeing Rosalie again. Meanwhile, Rosalie in those five years of being separated from her son and Angelito, graduated from college and is now earning much for being a flight attendant. She is actually the breadwinner in her family. There she met a young pilot and became lovers. Just then, during this time, Rosalie’s brother was released from prison. Rosalie’s boyfriend helped him get a job in his mother’s company. So you see now how they love the new boyfriend? Hmp!
Scenes get more interesting now! Starting from Rosalie’s discovery that Angelito and her son is just around. And yes, they met. Also, still in love with each other but Rosalie couldn’t fight for it for so many reasons. Her family and her new boyfriend. Now, all she wanted is to keep her son with her to take care of him. She wants to take all those times that she lost of being a mother to her son. Angelito would just let her visit their son whenever she wants.
Sadly, Rosalie could not take the arrangement that she listened to her boyfriend’s strong suggestion of taking the case to the court. And that is what’s happening now. Last Friday, the judge asked the child to be in court. He’s asking Junjun to whom will he live with between his dad and mom. And that will be on Monday.
Lol! I am so into this drama so forgive me for making a review of this. I am actually watching online if I miss an episode on t.v. You have all the right to say that I’m an addict. That’s fine. LOL!
