I’m usually on my blog hopping activity or blog designing when time strikes at 2 in the afternoon. You know, that’s when I’m done with all the household chores and stuff. Just yet, after those noontime shows like Eat Bulaga, primetime Pinoy novelas follow. Honestly, I’m not so much of a fan of these kinds of drama flicks on TV but this “Angelito Ang Batang Ama” caught my attention and little did I know, I’m already loving it! (Lol! I just remembered Eat Bulaga is on GMA 7, while Angelito is at ABS-CBN.)

I love this particular drama, because it’s very admirable! Specially this father and son closeness. You may be thinking why, because in our family, or let’s say in typical Filipino families, it’s rare to see this kind of closeness between a father and the son. Usually, the father would always make their sons feel intimidated of the so-called “strong father image” that results to rebellion of the kids.

Now, back to the story. The kid, Junjun, who is 5 years of age would call his dad, ‘Pareng Angelito’ and treat each other just like best of friends! Personally, I love how this drama shows how a father and son relationship can be so fun. They would sleep beside each other, take baths sharing a single pail of water, laugh and do stuff together that I enjoy watching them really.

This is the kind of scenario that this father and son enjoy for 5 years without having the mother of the child around. Yet, as we all know, kids like Junjun in that early age starts to know and realize that he doesn’t have a mother. Another twist in the story right? It’s because, the parents of the girl, Rosalie (played by Charee Pineda), was only 16 years old when she had Junjun inside her tummy. With her family’s strong disapproval of her pregnancy as well as their relationship, she decided to elope with Angelito. From there, they found peace away from Rosalie’s family but that did not last long. They discovered where they are, and took Rosalie away from Angelito and the child who was only several weeks old. After all, they didn’t want the child in the first place. How cruel, right?

Since then, Angelito (played by the handsome JM de Guzman) was trying his best to build his family together but things got so complicated and dangerous for them. There were threats from Rosalie’s family against him so his grandmother hid him and the kid. Rosalie’s older brother was imprisoned too for burning a house where Angelito’s sister was injured.

Five years later, Angelito decided to go back to the city to look for a job to sustain his son’s needs all with the hope of seeing Rosalie again. Meanwhile, Rosalie in those five years of being separated from her son and Angelito, graduated from college and is now earning much for being a flight attendant. She is actually the breadwinner in her family. There she met a young pilot and became lovers. Just then, during this time, Rosalie’s brother was released from prison. Rosalie’s boyfriend helped him get a job in his mother’s company. So you see now how they love the new boyfriend? Hmp!

Scenes get more interesting now! Starting from Rosalie’s discovery that Angelito and her son is just around. And yes, they met. Also, still in love with each other but Rosalie couldn’t fight for it for so many reasons. Her family and her new boyfriend. Now, all she wanted is to keep her son with her to take care of him. She wants to take all those times that she lost of being a mother to her son. Angelito would just let her visit their son whenever she wants.

Sadly, Rosalie could not take the arrangement that she listened to her boyfriend’s strong suggestion of taking the case to the court. And that is what’s happening now. Last Friday, the judge asked the child to be in court. He’s asking Junjun to whom will he live with between his dad and mom. And that will be on Monday.

Lol! I am so into this drama so forgive me for making a review of this. I am actually watching online if I miss an episode on t.v. You have all the right to say that I’m an addict. That’s fine. LOL!

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

I want to start this movie review by saying that... I'm a huge fan of Kate Hudson! This being a fan of her started after I watched this movie and from then on, hunting more films that includes her just become a hit to me. "Raising Helen" which of course starred by her, is also a very cute movie that I couldn't just give away from my collection. I'm sure that most of you have already seen that movie too. I'll be reviewing that next time.

"How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" is a romantic comedy film directed by Donald Petrie in 2003, starring Kate Hudson, who played as Andie Anderson, and Matthew MacConaughey as Benjamin Barry McDonalds. Andie is a column writer in a girl magazine called "Composure" and she's the one taking care of the column, 'How to...'. Yet, she finds this particular work boring for she loves writing more about relevant topics such as politics, poverty, and reality issues. Until she found herself formulating another story which is inspired by her friend's (Michelle) recent breakup. Michelle did the classic mistakes that a woman does that drive men away. With this incident, Andie thought of writing a column entitled, "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" by dating a random guy around, make him fall in love and drive him away by making those typical mistakes in just 10 days. Interesting, right?

Meanwhile, Benjamin, an arrogant handsome guy is trying to pitch an advertisement for diamonds. Although, his boss already gave the job to women advertisers, he pushed his way on getting it. Since he tried convincing that his pitch is wonderful by saying, "Women in lust wants chocolates, a woman in love wants diamond" and so, the bet arose when he was challenged to prove it by making a woman fall in love with him and bringing her with him at the diamond launch. By then, the pitch will be his.

That meeting came up with an idea of choosing the girl for Benjamin in that exact place to where they are. Of course, he chose the girl. Unfortunately, he sighted Andie, who looked so cute and smart which is perfect because Andie was also in the hunt of a guy for her column!

Dating begun without them revealing their real intentions to each other. Of course,  who would? It was beautiful on the first days that they were so sweet as a real couple just when the 3rd day came. Andie intentionally started to irritate Benjamin with her turning-off-a-guy gestures. With all these funny incidents, there they came about to a big fight which happened on the fourth day. Since Matthew realized that he's doing this for his career, he thought of winning her back by suggesting to go for a 'couples therapy". Andie, as smart as she is, went for it that she chose a therapist herself which is Michelle. The fake therapist as expected. Talking and counseling here and there, which is by the way played very well by Michelle that turned out advising the two to have a weekend getaway together... to Mat's family house. It was like a very bad turn for Andie that she questionably stared at Michelle for what she did. But then, the decision was made and she can't just turn things back. And so they went for a vacation at the province on the fifth day.

The weekend vacation was great that Andie heard from Mat's family that she's the very first girl that he ever brought to their house. Everybody loved her and she started to feel something for Matthew as well as feeling guilty. They instantly became two persons who just blissfully enjoyed the moment together. Just then, as they went back to the city, things were complicated emotionally that it was hard for them to feel the reality of why they're together.

The last event was to come for Matthew's victory to get the pitch. And that is to bring Andie to the diamond launch. Andie went.

Matthew's colleagues were surprised to see that the girl arrived with him at the launch. But, they still have to know something. Is Andie really in love with him? They did asked Andie. Sadly, Andie said that she's not in love. From this event on, the party became the worse that it got. Andie and Benjamin finally came to know their real intentions to each other by hearing those reality from their own bosses who were also in the same event. Both of them tried to hurt each other by making a scene on the stage when Mat was asked to sing for the owner of the diamond company. He intentionally announced that Andie will sing with him. That exchange of furious and hurtful words was the worse!

And yeah, as expected, Andie was really in love and she couldn't hide it that at the end of her column it was stated. Benjamin was forced by his friend to read Andie's column and from then on, the happy and their real love story begun.

I know that it's not only me who's gonna say that Titanic is the most romantic movie of all time! Well, personally, I'd say that this movie had an impact in my heart. Never thought that love could be that intense in the hearts of two persons who just met and have known each other in that few days! This made me go gaga and 'kilig' when this hit the theaters in the late 90's. To be exact, I was only 15 years old then. So you would never imagine how I kept dreaming of that love story that spanned for about a month! LOL!

Anyway, I love how this movie inspired viewers on the belief that love is indeed isn't something you can plan. It's something that just naturally come. Jack and Rose's love story is believed to be an endless love. And who will ever forget the love quotes/lines from this movie after all? Not me! I'm planning to watch this again!
