The Exorcism of Emily Rose

I've been thinking of making a review on this movie for this is the kind of movie that truly scare my inner being. Honestly, I don't easily get scared by ghost movies, not at all. But when evil possession or the works of evil is there, that makes me real scared and trembling. I actually pray and brace myself before I start watching one. So here, I and Hubby decided to download this movie out of curiosity from the internet and watched it together last week. All that you will read in here are pure views and opinions from me.

I believe that what happened to Emily Rose is real. It's so real that even the doctor who was right there during her exorcism couldn't explain what he felt and witnessed in that very moment. He was totally terrified.

As a Christian, who believes in God and in evil, I'd say that this movie is never a fiction nor a fact but a manifestation of what evil can do to human beings. As to what I saw in this movie, Emily Rose was a devout Christian and was active in the church. But why did evil came to dwell in her and made her suffer? And to think, 6 evil names were inside her.

First, it's because God allowed it. He loved Emily so much that it's His way to let people know what evil spirits can and cannot do. I'm sure that a lot of people will doubt that God allowed it because why of all people, Emily has to bear it. When she was a very good girl, a very aspiring lady to her career and sure to have a bright future. Well, in this light, I always say that we cannot question how God wants to let us know the whole truth. For me, I definitely believe in the end part of this movie that Emily was destined to be in this situation. The devil stays where they are and she has the choice to stay or leave. During this time, I was actually really sad because no one deserves to be in this but you know, in either way, I was totally happy to know that whatever happens, she's going to be with our Father in heaven. And I was in awe that Emily chose to stay on.

I'm sure that this is a big question to most of us. The truth is, evil is here to deceive, kill and destroy. In the case of this movie, we saw how terrible the extent could be. But then again, God gave us free minds to believe it or not. We have all the freedom to choose yet for me, God has His ways even to this present time how He wants us to know and make us realize His power and love that no matter what happens, for as long as we believe in Him, and have faith in Him, we will never be forsaken. Evil may do big and small things in us, that sometimes, it's too small that we don't think it's deceiving us already when wrong becomes right. The question is, will we let that stay in us or let it go. It's our choice.

This movie may scare us but then let's take in the joy of other things that God gives us everyday. A blessed day to everyone.

Training Day

I'm not usually fond of guy movies such as this (Training Day), but because I began to love Denzel Washington from the movie John Q, so far, I also began loving every movie that included him. But, to my surprise, Denzel is not the usual "good person" that I used to watch. In this movie, he turned out to be a dirty cop.  It's admirable that the direction of the movie was unpredictable that it took time for me to figure out that Denzel was actually the bad guy. Maybe that's also because I always thought he's the good guy in the movies. LOL!

His stylist also did a good job for making Denzel looked so much as a street cop. I love the rugged look and those attires and big chain necklaces that he wore. To top it all, though he turned out to be the bad guy, he still did not fail to admire me with his acting skills! Well, he nailed the character I must say. I also like to applaud Ethan Hawks for playing his part as a very principled cop.

How about you? Have you watched Training Day yet? What do you think about the movie?

The best part is the feeling of fulfillment in my heart when I saw that everything was accomplished smoothly until the day of our wedding.

I'm sure that a lot of bloggers are not aware of this change. Yes. Google Friend Connect is closing this March 2012, probably by the end of the month. It's upsetting to know this because it's been an effort to earn followers through GFC plus it's a way for me to browse new posts from blog pals. By just thinking of not having this in my dashboard would surely become a new adjustment for me.

And so, this post is to encourage everybody to lead your followers to the new ways of following blogs. You can start leading your loyal followers to Networked Blogs, RSS or Email Subscription, Bloglovin, Pinterest etc. I'd prefer using Networked Blogs and Email Subscription through Feedburner to a more effective traffic to my blogs. Stop asking new followers to follow you thru GFC since it's all gonna be in vain anyway.

On the bright side, I'm still happy that I've been joining to sponsor giveaways lately to earn new followers and subscribers to my blogs. Bridesmaids Movie

I was looking for a good movie to watch online yesterday and then I happened to click on this one. This movie is all about girl friendship and the good and bad things that may happen between bridesmaids before and during the wedding. I was not expecting that this would just hit it off on screen because it did not give me such impact while watching. I actually cooked and ate in between, paused and played when done. Turned out that it took like 3 hours before I finished it.

Though I wasn't very impressed of the movie, it did make me remind of me and my best friend's little dispute before my wedding last year. We are best of friends since college. One is soon to be married next week while the other one is still waiting for her boyfriend's proposal. That means that she's gonna be the last to marry among us. I'd say that those events from this movie really happen. But then, ours is a different story. My best friend (I'll hide her in the name of Elizabeth) got engaged before me. Of course, as her friends, we Liza (again fake name) and I were so happy for her and looking forward to their wedding plans. But then months and months passed, there were no plans from her and fiance yet. So, we thought that their's is a long engagement. November, my birthday to be exact came. Surprisingly, my boyfriend proposed to me in front of my family and Liza. Elizabeth was not there because of her busy schedule. I was very happy and overwhelmed by the moment that as soon as I got the chance of seeing her, I told her the great news. All I was expecting from her was joy. But it wasn't. Yes, she said that she was happy about me being engaged and was having all those plans for our wedding on the next 4 months but I felt that there was something wrong. I didn't discern what was it all about so, I decided not to tell a lot from then on. Anyway, she didn't ask anything at all after that. I assumed that she was unhappy because that means that I'm gonna be married before her. But then, to make sure, I asked her since I couldn't take those cold smiles and shoulders from her. That's when I finally knew that she wasn't happy of my soon to be wedding because people started pressuring her of whether she and her boyfriend's exact plans of getting married. Well, obviously, for me, I felt sorry for her but being friends, it's just right to be happy for each other, right? I told her that she doesn't need to feel bothered about what other people say. I may marry ahead of her and  and it should not be a competition. We are not competing for anything in the first place and that we have different paths in life. The truth is, there will be times that one goes first and the other one comes next. I'm glad that she understood and that she let go of that feeling towards me. Besides, I didn't want to lose her as my bridesmaid and Liza as my maid of honor.

By next week, Elizabeth is finally walking down the aisle and bind with the man she dearly loves for the rest of her life. Liza is next in line for sure although there's no definite plan from her and her boyfriend of when to settle down. But whenever it is, may the 3 of us have a happy and blessed family life.

One Liter of Tears: A Reflection to my Good Friend's Death

This Japanese drama series made me think about a good friend who just died yesterday morning. He died from a heart attack inside his condominium. We, his family and friends, just knew about his critical situation last week when he suddenly was rushed into the hospital. Actually, he didn't know that his heart was functioning so poorly when he would have exercise everyday and lives in a two-storey apartment. We were shocked just  as he is when the doctor said that his heart is dying. Only 17 percent is pumping. That explains how his feet got so swollen because the heart couldn't pump strong enough to circulate the blood around his body. He was advised to stay on guard of his heart from then on. He couldn't afford to get tired, stressed out or be extremely emotional at any risk. But you know, I didn't see that in him. I was expecting that he would feel so sad and depressed. He stayed on with strong spirit yet his heart just couldn't take it any longer.

I reflected through this movie on my good friend's death. He died at the age of 49. His courage and strength is so similar with this Japanese girl who had this degenerating disease. They were both courageous and brave that they gave inspiration to normal people. They stood as strong spirited persons as they are despite their situation. They were the ones who touched and lived the rest of their life with beauty and grace. They were  instrument of God's amazing grace that no matter how life can be so depressing at times, His love and blessing through sick people like them inspires us. My friend is very Godly and prayerful that he was there to always give me inspiration and hope through the reading of God's word. In fact, he was sharing with me a passage from his newly downloaded e-bible last Saturday. So, I'm well rest assured that he is now face to face with Christ. Feeling no pain but happiness.

One Liter of Tears is a true to life story of a young Japanese girl who wrote her joys, sadness and hope while going through her disease. Yes, she died because of no cure to such rare disease that she got but then, her life story remained alive and inspiring to people around the world. If you haven't seen it yet, there's one thing I'll advise you to do. Prepare a handful of handkerchief or tissue papers because you will definitely cry your heart out on this one.
I can sleep where you will go
